LP either confused or desperate - Maza
Villaroyo allegation and pro-communist tag inconsistent
“The members of the Liberal Party seem to be getting either confused or desperate. First they threw the ‘Villaroyo’ allegation against Nacionalista Party standard bearer Manny Villar, and now they tag him as pro-communist. ”
This is the statement of Makabayan-Nacionalista senatorial candidate Liza Maza regarding LP spokesperson Edwin Lacierda’s comment criticizing Col. Ariel Querubin’s alliance with the Nacionalista Party.
“In desperation to demolish its rival Party and its candidates, LP resorted to the “trapo act” of personal attacks without a care whether they make sense or are consistent with their allegations,” Maza said.
STOP FACTORY OF LIES
Liza Maza called on the Liberal Party to stop its factory of lies against members of the Nacionalista Party.
“From its standard bearer Senator Noynoy Aquino, down to its senatorial candidates, the Liberal Party has been engaging in nothing but mudslinging and lie-fabricating,” Maza said.
“What they are engaged in are not intellectual debates on controversial issues that affect the lives of Filipinos, but petty and personal attacks against persons, which in the first place are not true. This is a new low even for Philippine politics,” Maza said.
“Instead of digging and casting dirt against opponents, I challenge Senator Aquino and the rest of the Liberal Party candidates to instead bare a more comprehensive platform for the 2010 elections,” Maza said.
Maza earlier described the Liberal Party platform as shallow, as it centers only on anti-corruption. Aside from not even laying out concrete ways to curb this age-old problem, LP’s platform is silent on more important issues such as poverty, joblessness and landlessness. ###
