"Kaibigan, si Boy Abunda po ito. Tandaan natin, ang tunay n maka-masa ay me pani2ndigan para s masa, ksm nla @ ipinagla2ban cla. Kaibigan, 20 boto lng mula s yo, s kaibigan m, kapitbhy m, kamag-anak m para kay Liza MAZA ng Gabriela s SENADO. Makiisa sa 20-20 Movt para ke Liza MAZA, kampanya para iboto c Liza MAZA s Senado s Mayo 2010!"
This was the exact text which started circulating in the texting world today coming from none other than the King of Talk, Boy Abunda, himself expressing support for Makabayan-Nacionalista senatorial candidate Liza Maza and encouraging fellow voters to help the three term Gabriela representative gain a seat in the Senate.
Abunda is a known supporter of Gabriela - the biggest alliance of women's organization in the Philippines - for years now and has, in fact, been endorsing the partylist - and now Maza - in the elections in gratis. The television host and talent manager is vocal in his belief that gays and lesbians share a common cause with women and Liza Maza, as the face of women empowerment in the country as well as a known supporter of the LGBT community, has the capacity to further promote the human rights and equality of the marginalized sectors society in the Senate.
The 20-20 Movement aims to widen the support for Liza Maza's candidacy by "chain-texting" and campaigning to 20 family members and friends, encouraging them to vote for her in the coming May 10, 2010 senatorial elections.
Boy Abunda is the first in the series of "text blasts" and will be followed by other supporters of Liza Maza for Senator in the entertainment and sports industry, as well as, in the academe and politics.
Maza is currently in CARAGA region with Nacionalista Party standard-bearer Manny Villar and the rest of the NP senatorial slate for a campaign sortie. ###
